January 1, 2002 CareWorks Acquires Team Health Care Partnership, Inc. (DUBLIN, OH) -- CareWorks has announced its acquisition of Team Health Care Partnership, Inc. and is excited to begin providing its industry-leading medical management services to the more than 1,500 Ohio employers affected by this transition. Both CareWorks and Team Health Care Partnership, Inc. are certified managed care organizations (MCOs), operating under the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) Health Partnership Program (HPP) established in March 1997. BWC has formally approved the transaction and has notified all employers of the transfer of services. Effective December 4, 2001, CareWorks began providing medical management services for all of Team Health 1,500 plus customers. "We are excited about the opportunity to demonstrate CareWorks' commitment to providing customer service that exceeds expectations to our newest customers," said William W. Pfeiffer, CareWorks' President and CEO. "We are firmly committed to making this a smooth transition of services, and have been working closely with our new customers since early December to ensure we are effectively managing all of their active claims," added Pfeiffer. CareWorks has been very proactive in notifying all injured workers and medical providers involved with these active claims of this transfer of MCO service.
