May 19, 2000 Internet sites speeding up claim filings, prescriptions (Article as it appeared in May 19, 2000 Columbus Business First)

Two local insurers are using Internet sites to help customers start claims and track prescriptions.

Dublin-based CareWorks, which provides medical and claims management services for more than 48,000 Ohio employers under the Bureau of Workers' Compensation health partners program, has created the Internet Injury Reporting Center to speed up claims processing and to increase the probability of a successful return to work for the injured worker.

"We realize the dramatic impact timely injury reporting has on our customers' workers' compensation premium and the medical care their injured workers receive," said William W. Pfeiffer, CareWorks president and CEO.

Employers who have selected CareWorks as their managed care organization can now take advantage of this new reporting option at careworks.com.
