November 15, 2001 CareWorks introduces Injury Reporting Packets

(DUBLIN, OH) -- As Ohio's leading MCO, one of CareWorks' primary roles as an employer's MCO is helping them report new workplace injuries as quickly and accurately as possible.

National statistics indicate that delaying a First Report of Injury (FROI) beyond five days from the injury date can increase the cost of the claim approximately $30 per day.

To help our customers effectively manage their workplace injuries, CareWorks is pleased to offer its newest education tool – Injury Reporting Packets.

These packets can assist employers in creating an effective injury reporting process, while educating their employees on basic guidelines to follow should they be injured at work.

Each CareWorks Injury Reporting Packet contains the following:

Take the Right Steps information piece; BWC First Report of Injury (FROI) form; CareWorks MCO identification card; and, Key Information contact sheet. The packets are delivered unsealed, allowing employers to insert any existing internal forms or instructions and take advantage of the processes they may already have in place.

To order a supply of Injury Reporting Packets, current CareWorks customers can contact our Customer Service Department, toll-free, at 1-888-627-7586.

Or, visit the Education Section at www.careworks.com to download a sample.

CareWorks appreciates the opportunity to help make injury reporting easier and more effective for both our employer customers and their injured employees.
